Once again this year, the vineyard faced its trials, from heavy rains and heatwaves to intense harvests. But despite these challenges, we managed to preserve the quality of our grapes and produce promising cuvées.
🌦 The Climate: Between Rain and Heat
As in 2023 and 2024, May, June, and early July were particularly rainy, creating a significant health risk for the vines. Luckily, thanks to proactive treatment management, we limited mildew attacks and protected the foliage.
In August, a heatwave struck the vineyard. Thanks to the favorable location of our estate and grapes still in full maturation, the impact was limited compared to earlier-ripening areas.
🍇 The Harvest: Racing Against the Grapes
The harvest began calmly but irregularly: early varieties like Sauvignon Blanc were picked a bit ahead of schedule, while September rains delayed the rest.
Two significant rainfall events (September 10 and September 20-25) added moisture, encouraging grey rot (Botrytis) on certain parcels. We had to be reactive and flexible, sometimes harvesting earlier to minimize losses.
Grenache was the most affected variety, but the whites and rosés developed beautiful aromatic profiles thanks to the season’s freshness, which allowed slightly extended maturation.
📊 Volumes and Surprises
Compared to 2024 (a frost year), volumes were much better, around 1,350 hectoliters, with expectations for further increases in the coming years.
🍷 Wine Quality
Fermentations went smoothly, and the 2025 cuvées look very promising:
-
Whites and Rosés: very interesting aromatic profiles, sometimes riper than usual.
-
Reds: three different Syrah profiles, from light to premium.
-
Blends: even delicate varieties were carefully managed, resulting in well-balanced cuvées.
⚡ Conclusion
2025 was a demanding year, but thanks to daily vigilance and strategic vineyard choices, we ended up with healthy grapes and exciting wines ahead. The harvest was intense and sometimes stressful, but the results are very encouraging.
A year of challenges met, promising wines that reflect our passion and commitment. 🍇✨
